We are a secondary school in Upper Hutt, New Zealand, located 30km from Wellington CBD - the capital city of New Zealand. We have over 700 students, both boys and girls, ranging in age from 12 to 18 years. The school is situated in the picturesque Hutt River valley.
Heretaunga College holds its own with New Zealand's best secondary schools. Not only do we offer an excellent education, but we believe our leadership, staff, facilities and programmes are also first class.
Heretaunga College focuses on the individual worth of each person and we make efforts to keep the environment caring and student-centred.
Proposed Enrolment Scheme - Home Zone
As many of you know Heretaunga College is overcrowded. This is in spite of the previous amendment to our enrolment scheme, which was put in place at the beginning of 2020. To prevent further overcrowding, we are having to amend our enrolment scheme further. Please read the document below from the Ministry of Education, who will be managing this process for us. All comments/feedback must be forwarded to the facilitator, Neal Swindells - email@example.com
The Ministry of Education has identified that Heretaunga College is overcrowded or likely to be overcrowded and has given the school board notice of this.
After consultation with the board, we have developed proposed amendments to the Enrolment Scheme for Heretaunga College under section 72 of the Education and Training Act 2020.
As part of this process we are consulting with the school’s community and with people living in the area for which the school is a reasonably convenient school.
If you have any comments about the proposed amendments to the Enrolment Scheme for Heretaunga College that you would like to be included in the final report about this proposal, please forward them to Neal Swindells at firstname.lastname@example.org by 25th June 2021. He is a consultant who will summarise the community’s feedback into a report for the Ministry of Education.
